Welcome to DisabilityVoiceSpace

DisabilityVoiceSpace is dedicated to educating the public about people with disabilities DisabilityVoiceSpace educates both people with and without disabilities through various articles and through its advocacy efforts. Legislators will be educated about the problems and challenges people with disabilities face. On the page called ADA you will find information on the Americans with Disabilities Act..

DisabilityVoiceSpace encourages advocacy helping people with disabilities.  DisabilityVoiceSpace does this by providing various online resources. Visit the page located on the main menu called Advocacy. On this page you will find a discussion forum with varius topics.  After a simple registration process you can discuss topics relating to advocacy or anything about people with disabilities. (Not forbidding talking about the weather).
The Forum main topics are set by the DisabilityVoiceSpace team, but suggestions are always welcome and you can start your own thread under most topics.
A free advocacy profile and page can be obtained by anyone who would like to promote a specific advocacy goal of helping people with disabilities socially, politically, or for public change. Currently the free advocacy page resource is in a trial phase and is temporarily only available to people in Wisconsin.  In 2009 more states will be able to take advantage of this resource.  The idea of people receiving free pages for advocacy for people with disabilities have trouble forming groups and getting out to voice their opinion and make their needs known. As we all know being out in the public is what makes changes in our political world. DisabilityVoiceSpace is promoting free advocacy pages so that people with disabilities can start their own advocacy, but people without disabilities can also see a free advocacy page.

There will be a page called DAWN, which has article links and comments on those articles from the website of DAWN (Disability Advocates Wisconsin Network); www.dawninfo.org.  Dawn provides important articles on people with disabilities relating to what is happening politically and for public change in Wisconsin.  DAWN is providing a grant to Timothy A Carey to create this website called DisabilityVoiceSpace for getting people with disabilities into doing advocacy.
